cd:You are doing a good job on campus David-keep up the good work. I find it interesting we are preaching the same thing except I attack the issue of not speaking our from the cowards point of view-as why he will not enter heaven and how modern interpretation of a coward is wrong. To walk away from a fight because the opponent is stronger than you are is not being a coward but showing wisdom-as the Kings did to stronger armies in the Bible. What makes a coward is the fear of speaking out on what one knows to be true and going with the crowd...etc. I have found it to be very effective as it allows one to be exposed to another view and the cognitive think processes take over and does the rest-with a little help from God.1 John 2:16 speaking on the pride of life is addressing this very subject-1 of 3 warning for Christian and opens the door for discussion on the other two:-) Lately I have been drawing the females into debate by telling them that while God uses women for his purposes as seen in women Judges of Israel-women deaconesses- and that a women can walk beside a man and not always behind a man- but the women such as the NOW who promote homosexually and abortion should be back in the kitchen making cornbread. Comparing a Godly women with a ungodly women. This always gets a good crowd to use to spread the gospel. Gary Birdsong would draw the black race and use examples such as:"Are you proud of being black? Then why can't I be proud of being white!Which opened the door for a debate on how the white male is being pressured not to speak out-but as the black race is more emotion and prone to be violent caution should be used here. I do want to speak to Christine on the feminine movement-when she is not so busy.I have found that being truthful and fair does get respect-not just making outrageous statement to draw a crowd. Thanks and keep up the good works for I see Christ written all over it.
