Hi IZ I will answer this soon. I was out of town preaching.

Unless I provide a full answer I am afraid some will mischaracterize what I am talking about. Setting up their straw man attack on "works salvation". Which is irrelevant since I teach no such thing, and no such thing EXISTS. Men are saved by faith not works. But that false assertion, does provide an easy target to destroy and derails the true conversation. The subject under discussion has Absolutely nothing to do with how one is saved the subject is how does one that is saved behave. No matter how much some would try to MIScharacterize it as a salvation issue.  For now consider:

Now there was a impotentent man at the pool of Bethesda

JN 5:7 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
There was NO QUESTION being considered here of WHETHER the impotent man COULD be made whole, it was SIMPLY a question of WOULD he!!!!!
Notixce also he was not just healed Jesus made him WHOLE and that IMMEDIATELY!
Jn 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed
Jesus makes the issue a matter of the will of the man!

Kevin, do you not realize that baby Believers—those not yet mature in the faith—might not have been immediately delivered from all besetting sins upon making the decision to follow Jesus Christ? Do you think that being filled with the Spirit is a process for some; particularly for those who have no experience in Christianity or godly family background from which to draw upon? Do we strive to help those who don’t just get saved and delivered all in one day, or do we consign them to contempt and wash our hands of them? I agree that no one who is a Christian has an excuse for continuing in sin.  But do we not owe it to each person to strive with them, teach them, and encourage/exhort them in the faith, as did St. Paul? I know it took me a long time to get out of “Egypt” (bondage to sin) and into the promised land (freedom from sin), even after God’s grace fell upon me.  Please let me know what you think.  Izzy
