Of course the language is not precise but the thing is what people
understand out of a given expression. At least here, when people put a
sign in a shop saying they'll be on holidays from August 1st to August
15th people understand that both are included.

And it seems that all the feedback we all get is that current
behaviour is not what the user expects. So for me, it is better to
make closed intervals because it will make the application more
predictable. Also, in accounting we use <= and >= when filtering
information by period or dates.

Well, that probably depends if you need to think more on the number of
days of a month or what is the next month ;) Actually, the thing is
probably that I'm also more used to closed intervals because that's
what I've always seen (except with some rare modules in OpenERP where
I always had to explain users that the behaviour of the application in
there was strange...)
