I would say that fresh new look is always a good option after some time. Logo for sure need to be kept as it is for as long as possible. But some times it is good to renew also the logo colors.
To be honest , black and white style of the current page is a little bit of "sad" not implies to anything much happy. But thats a question of taste, so anybody has its own. I can say that even iphone has changed its colors of the product, during versions, and you can have many examples of products out there. So personally I would like to see that black to be not so strong and maybe use some light shades of light blue or yellow with the page. The combinations can vary. Just my thought on the colors.
