Of course yes. I never use this box because writing search is much more
faster.

Some users don't understand what is "and"/"or" in a query.
Have you already ask people if they use it on Google Search? I did
around me and I almost find nobody (except devs).

By looking at it, I still don't understand what it does.
And again choices are bad for design.

This is really strange because most of the browsers work like that.
And also it is consistent with the other "Favorite" feature on the menu.

Consistency is the more important feature for the project.

If it doesn't it is because your expression is wrong.
You must use the autocompletion to help you writing it.
