Hello,

I was wondering about the stock_lot expiry system in which expiry dates are
given to individual lots or products. We have alot of off the shelf
products and are expiry sensitive. inherently we need:

Yes, all lots will have expiry date, as does each product. Product has same
date as all of the same products from the batch, which will be in same lot.
Say Product A, exp. 12/2015. We order 1000 units. Then all units will go in
8 unit transparent plastic packs. Then the 8-unit packs could go into boxes
that fit say 12 of those. OR they pack could be wrapped together using
tape, or plastic strap. So the stock should have the logic that when you
receive a delivery order, you have to associate the exp date with the
lot/bundle. And when you sell, and when you need to open the lot, / bundle,
then the individual products will inherit the exp date of the lot.

I would also like to know how we could put expiry dates into the lot number
field just as a bar code with a serial umber in it as: Lot: 001-152014
means bundle 1 of 15/2014

Thanks in advance!
Oscar
