It can not be the task of a distribution documentation to handle the different
aspects to be considered (e.g. dev installation vs. production installation).
This is typically part of the project documentation and should be available
*before* the decision, if distribution packages should be used or not. 
And since this documentation exists, it would be user friendly to hint at it
from the according web page.
