The packaging problem is much more than just a matter of unit of product. If you do like that using one product, it means to Tryton that those items are exactly the same for you no matter what "packaging" it is. And so Tryton is going to make you pick in the UoM of its choice. But if for you the packaging makes them not exactly the same, then you have to create different products (with the uom of your choice) and you will have to run production to change one product into another (like opening a box).
