Mmm... I'm running linux mint 18, which is based on Ubuntu 16.04 and I can not reproduce it. The main diference is that I'm not using Unity desktop. Are you using Unity?
I remember that we had some issues with it on the past and we need to introduce some workarround in order to fix them.
