yes .. I found somewhere I cant remember a patched version of mkbootdisk that allow you to save a file, just in case you dont have a floppy ;)... then you'll have to put the image in an el-torito format on a cd .. et voila' ... maybe will work :P you'll have to google around to find it ... cheers

You see, I resurrected an old Compaq Proliant 800 (Pentium Pro) machine, but TSL install, for some reason, wasn't able to recognize the attached SCSI drive. So I plugged in a spare 20GB IDE, but the BIOS could not detect the new hdd. Even though, after booting the TSL install CD, TSL was able to detect the IDE HDD and proceeded to install TSL in it. TSL install made the bootdisk, but now after rebooting, the machine doesn't recognize the boot diskette -- gives me a boot disk error.
So now, an alternative I'm looking into is to see if there's a way to boot the system from a CD,
