I'm having a similar issue on a clean 2.2 box. I have installed
cyrus-sasl cyrus-sasl-devel and cyrus-sasl-tools on this box. However,
whenever I try to add a user to the sasldb, I get the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~# saslpasswd2 -u mrichi.com -c pkutzner
Password:
Again (for verification):
saslpasswd2: generic failure

Anyone have any ideas what I might be missing? I'm trying to get
postfix working with SASL/TLS but I can't even add users to the sasl
database at this point.
