This morning, after the last kernel upgrade, a service running on my Trustix 2.1 machine reported that the computer had 4 cpu's and that the license we had was for a 2 cpu machine. It is refusing to start. This software (Marklogic CIS) had been running happily on this computer yesterday. The only change on the machine that I can think of is the kernel upgrade and a reboot. The running kernel is now 2.4.30-2trsmp.

Although I am sure the computer has only two processors (dual Intel Xeon 3GHz), I took a look at /proc/cpuinfo, and sure enough, it shows four cpu's, numbered 0-3. I suspect this isn't necessarily a trustix issue, but does anyone know why four cpu's are showing up there? Any ideas on why a kernel upgrade would affect that?

Thanks,

Steve
