Hi list

finally I had some time to look at tsl 3.0, here are some notes about it:
Some of them are really a little bit nitpicking.. so I don't want to add all of
them to bugtrack.

I'm installing trustix-3.0.200504181524.i586.iso on a duron1000, VIA Apollo
kt266
chipset, 256MB RAM, IDE CDROM, Adaptec 2940UW(?) controller with one 4GB IBM HD
attached and two installed NICs (3c95x & rtl8139x)

1) Installation
- Why is the background color black and not teh good'ol blue? :)

1.1) Keyboard Configuration
Some other _simple_ dialogs select "Next" when pressing <enter> once, and
execute
"Next" when pressing <enter> again. This dialog does not :)

1.2) Partition List
Any chance to get <shift+tab> working? (cycle through al fields in reverse
order)

1.3) Network Configuration
I can only configure one NIC, the second is not recognised? (iirc this is
already
in bugtrack).
It could be useful to have the name (eth0) and maybe the drivername (3c95x) in
the
headline of the interface dialog.
Retrieving host/domainname via dns is great!

1.4) Package List
I'm doing a lot firewalling & network stuff, so I'm missing some packages:

at least "bridge-utils" and "vconfig" should be added. Both kernelmodules are in
TSL for ages, so the userspace part should be there too.

arptables/ebtables are mainstream in 2.6 They become very handy when building
firewalling bridges (eg. between ethX <-> wlanX)

openvpn2 has just been released (expect 2.2 contrib soon :) It could be a nice
alternative to *swan when talking to M$ Window$ clients..

Nice to see net-snmp (ivan: *thumbsup*) and freeradius in 3.0
I don't like the X11 stuff much, but time will tell..

That was all.. during install. So stay tuned, there will be more when playing
with 3.0 tomorrow :)

Olaf
