hi,
in default installation tsl is basically closed.
no service is acting on the "outside", so it is save to run any
application on there, which would work save on its own.
Then there comes your responsibility, when you are starting services,
to define, what kind of access should be granted, and how the limits
are going to be enforced.
if you need a local fileserver as example, you install the right
packages (nfs/samba/netatalk) and normally no configuration should be
necessary, except your work setting up network shares, and who is
going to see them.

trustix is very much based on the idea to have all services having
reasonable defaults, leaving the "individual" bits to the
administrator, but relieving the administrator of "have to do anyway"
steps, as starting depended services, or e.g. creating standard log
folders.

so to say: safe as it could be in the hands of the person which
handles the box, nothing more, nothing less.

(and I hate the distros the offer additional "security", b/c there is
at least one box in the company which needs to be handled extra just
b/c there is nonsense extra security components. (automatically
switched on firewalls preventing a service on a fileserver).

just my two cents.
