2.1 is somehow .... outdated.
the migration from 2.1 to 2.2 is not such a pain,
(as described earlier on the list),
and has been done (having backups in place for the case of failure 
(!!!)) on production systems.

having a tsl2 distro running a 2.6 kernel, you would be out of line  
with the standard stuff, but check mortons contributions, also on his  
site.

can I ask why you want a 2.6 kernel in tsl2, instead of trying a tsl3  
release candidate?
