I  check  out  this  on  another text box, and, yes, if the file was not
changed  (really  changed,  not  just  mtime  or  permissions)   it  was
overwritten. If I change the config (even one byte), .rpmnew appears.

Sorry,  I'm  a  newbie  with swup (not with TSL which we use since 1.2),
just  want  to make some things clear for me and decide if it is safe to
use automatic updates.
