This is a known bug and is being worked at. It might be resolved faster
if you add more information to the bug report:

The CPU-usage is just the progress-bar-update-thread going at it. We are
working on slowing that one down a bit. Right now it's doing pulling,
which is a bit silly.

This log message might prove interesting, but it also might be the
direct result of not getting the query thing going.

go to tty2
mount one of the other systems
copy the logs (/tmp/viper.log and /var/tmp/viper/*) to the other system
unmount the disk
reboot
