Hi list Just tried the new Trustix 3.0 on an IBM xSeries 346. No problem. Installation went fint. Running on soft RAID an working great. "Seems" like it boots and respons a litte bit quicker than Trustix 2.2. But it's just an "feeling" :)
Well. The box is going to be used as an firewall with Shorewall and ISP load balancing - route based iptables balance. Are going to use Shorewall to balance instead of an homemade script. And now the problem. Shorewall requires CONNMARK support in iptables. No problem I thoungt. CONNMARK is in the default kernel 2.6 - therefor no need to patch kernel. But CONNMARK isn't compiled in the kernel in Trustix 3.0. Okay, I then compiled my own kernel (make, make modules, make install, make modules_install) from kernel-source.rpm. But the kernel won't boot. It fails after the loading modules. Can't remember the correct "phrase" or "place". I can se that the new kernel install modules in, 2.6.11.12-2tr, : -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~# ls /lib/modules/ 2.6.11.12-2tr/ 2.6.11.12-2trsmp/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~# --- Is it because I havn't enabled SMP support in the new kernel? Which way to take having CONNMARK support in iptables? Could the default kernel include CONNMARK support? Or have do I compile the an new kenel the rigth way? Trustix rocks ;) Best regards /Jannic _______________________________________________ tsl-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.trustix.org/mailman/listinfo/tsl-discuss
