Which tsl series are you using? 2.2 or 3.0 ?
Don't you receive any kind of mail in the root Maildir ?

adding scripts in in these folders normally do the trick!

Check if your crontab is proper or maybe you could make use of the
default fcrontab
by running this command "
fcrontab /usr/share/doc/fcron-2.x.x/fcrontab-default "
