Strange. This sounds like iptables lacks icmp support, but there is a
/lib/iptables/libipt_icmp.so in iptables-1.3.1-5tr.i586.rpm.

iirc icmp netfilter support can not be disabled (icmp_match symbol is in 
iptables.ko) -> as soon as "iptables.ko" is loaded, it should work.
