Any particular reason for Dell? I have very good experience with IBM
servers (namely xSeries 236).

The chipset seems supported, at least there is patches in the 2.4
kernels for it. I would recommend TSL 3, but 2.2 is still the stable
version.

Your TSL 2.1 servers must be upgraded, TSL 2.1 is EOL'ed and will not
recieve any more updates. Upgrading vanilla 2.1 to 2.2 using swup should
be painless.
