as I read the policy,
the next .2 will become super stable.
3.0 and 3.1 are the steps to become stable.
compared with any other distro I use the wording would be 3.0 is  
released as a marketing release is,
but if you run a 24-7 99.9% server, install 2.2, since there is a  
'feature frozen' tree, which won't change.

I have 2.2 for name server,
and if a customer asks me about 2.6 kernel, or just one power supply,  
they get 3.0, since if they have time to change a failing power  
supply, they have time to setup a 2.2 backup in case something fails  
with the 3.0 server.

I use 3.0 for web and mail services already, and it works great.
but the old 2.2 mailserver will be in place until the end-of-life for  
swup upgrades.
the hardware is fine, it is cooled, and will be there for the time as  
smtp /amavis/clamav/ webmail.
