I'll answer then. :) No need to go around shocking people.. :D EVMS is the only tool that can handle all three of: partitioning, RAID-setup, LV-setup within one ABI. It was the obvious choice when writing a new installer. Doing it any other way would be three times the amount of work = three times the amount of time = longer period before we could get 3.0 out the door. We have never supported upgrading from one major version to the next. Not supporting that is helping us implement bigger changes to make sure TSL is in its best possible condition at all times. And why do you think evms is blocking you from doing such an unsupported upgrade? I've found evms to be a great tool on our rescue disk when dealing with older raid and lvm configurations.
