I know this goes against all security measures, but I want to add a telnet
server as a backup on my Trustix 3.0 box. This is because SSH has died on me
in the past (and I still don't know why) and I can't get in otherwise to
restart it remotely -- I have to ask my ISP to reboot the machine. So I want
telnet available as a backup option.

If I remember from my Trustix 1.5 days, in.telnetd was available through the
xinetd package. However, I installed that and don't see an entry for telnet,
or see the /usr/sbin/in.telnetd file. Is this not available through swup and
I have to manually install it? If so, where should I get it?

On the initial problem with SSH -- I don't see anything in the logs
(/var/log/messages, /var/log/secure) to indicate why it had died. Are there
any other places I should check to see what happened to SSH?

Thanks.
