I have a production mail server running on a 750. This one uses an Intel
ICH6 SATA disk controller. Not sure about the 850.
These disk controllers are poorly supported by the stock 2.4 kernel
used by TSL 2.2. It boots, but performance is pathetic (PATA mode).
Kernel 2.6 is required for proper native SATA support.
I had to hack a 2.6 kernel into TSL 2.2.

Apart from the disk controller, support for the rest of the h/w (e.g.
the on-board Gig-E LAN controllers) was trouble-free (even using stock
kernel), and the machine is quite stable.
