Hi Steve,

Sorry If I've misread you, but you say you extracted the iso file - do you
mean you extracted all the files within the iso image and burnt those as a
normal cd ? If so - that's where you went wrong. By doing this you didn't
burn the 'bootable' part of the cd, only the files on it. You can actually
burn an iso filesystem image directly to the cd if your cd burning software
supports this (most do - notable exception: the XP cd burning wizard). If
you are using windows XP you can use this free power toy to directly burn an
iso:

Otherwise have a look in your cd burning docs for a section about burning cd
image files.
