users aside, mailing lists are much superior in a technical way..

I'm sure this is common knowledge to most, but a quick recap of the 
reasoning;

One wants to follow/respond to messages on several fora..
with webforums, one need to sign up with a username and password for 
each one.. and they usually have quite different interfaces.
with mailinglists, it's all delivered to your very own account, and you 
access them all from your client .. same interface and only one 
username/password to remember..

You can't always use the same username for webforums.. they might be 
registered, or even if you use your email address.. some webforums might 
disallow @ in the username.

I fail to see any single reason why one would want to use a webforum, 
given that one need more than one fora..
