My initial desire was to make a system bootable from a rescue partition, working remotely. At the moment I am thinking that it might not be too hard to just cram enough functionality into a initrd set up to skip the rescue partition entirely. Just boot an initrd and stop. Any thoughts on this? In a minute I will look around on the web and probably find 50 tiny distros based on this idea...
