Well, it really depends on the purpose of course. Trustix is way better suited to a server. I like Slackware for my desktops. > so I want to install all the same Samba server with RAID-1 but running > on Trustix 3.0 On the same server? so that will be a fresh install right? I have no direct experience of this with TSL 3.0 (I do with 2.2). I suppose that the new installation program should pretty much guide you through. Any fancy hardware on this box, like SATA disks or such? or is it mainstream? > So I believe there will be some different procedures makeing software > RAID-1 on Trustix.... The underlying kernel support and commands are the same, but TSL 3.0 adds EVMS which provides for more advanced abstraction and unification for the various kind of logical devices. I find it overly complex, poorly documented and overall confusing, but that's just my two cents. Some people have posted post-installation steps to get rid of EVMS to this list I think. You should be able to find them. Greets, _Alain_ _______________________________________________ tsl-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.trustix.org/mailman/listinfo/tsl-discuss
