Thats kinda true, I've changed the port for my ssh and the problem with
scans/attacks was reduced to a minimum.

Not fixed. Moved. Simply changing the port of a service doesnt give you
security. If you have a house whith a broken door you wont keep thieves
out by moving the door to another wall.
