I knew you'd be the first to answer :-) Well, to be fair: its a trade off. You can push the fix out first chance you get, but then you wouldnt know if the fix breaks other stuff. But judging from the overall article it seems they just saw "Secure" in the name and thought: "well, they'll doublecheck everything and that takes time". Good excuse actually....
