Trustix Secure Linux Bugfix Advisory #2006-0049

Package names: amavisd-new, apache, cyrus-sasl, nfs-utils, openswan,
                   squid
Summary: Various bug fixes
Date: 2006-09-01
Affected versions: Trustix Secure Linux 2.2
                   Trustix Secure Linux 3.0

- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Package description:
  amavisd-new
AMaViS is a script that interfaces a mail transport agent (MTA) with
  one or more virus scanners.

  apache
Apache is a full featured web server that is freely available, and also
happens to be the most widely used. Built with loadable modules (all
standard modules enabled). This verion is intended as a replacement for
a standard apache, the configuration files provided with apache and
  apache-ssl are unchanged.

  cyrus-sasl
The cyrus-sasl package contains the Cyrus implementation of SASL.
SASL is the Simple Authentication and Security Layer, a method for
adding authentication support to connection-based protocols.

  nfs-utils
The nfs-utils package provides a daemon for the kernel NFS server and
related tools, which provides a much higher level of performance than
the traditional Linux NFS server used by most users.

  openswan
Openswan is a free implementation of IPSEC & IKE for Linux. IPsec is
Internet Protocol Security and uses strong cryptography to provide both
authentication and encryption services. These services allow you to
build secure tunnels through untrusted networks. Everything passing
through the untrusted net is encrypted by the ipsec gateway machine and
decrypted by the gateway at the other end of the tunnel. The resulting
tunnel is a virtual private network or VPN.

  squid
Squid is a high-performance proxy caching server for Web clients,
supporting FTP, gopher, and HTTP data objects. Unlike traditional
caching software, Squid handles all requests in a single, non-blocking,
I/O-driven process. Squid keeps meta data and especially hot objects
cached in RAM, caches DNS lookups, supports non-blocking DNS lookups,
and implements negative caching of failed requests.
