Hi list,

For the last 2 years I always used the Intel D915GEV MB with the Intel
915 chipset with TSL 2.2. Except for a few issues, such as no
autodetection of the ata_piix module and manually compiling the
sk98lin network module, it was working good.

So, now this MB is not available anymore and the new (almost the same)
Intel boards have the Intel 965 chipset.

With this board I can boot but not install TSL 2.2, the IDE controller
is not working (asking for a driver disk), so no CD-rom during
install. Also, after a PXE install without the CD-rom, the Intel 1000
onboard NIC (Intel 1000) and the IDE controller is not working.

I tried TSL 3.0.5 (PXE network install), but the IDE controller is
also not working. Network and SATA is working fine.

I really like to use TSL 2.2 instead of 3.0.5 and I have to get the
IDE working for the DVD drive for burning data.

What is the right solution for this? Switch to 3.0.5 (not stable) and
use a IDE pci add-on card or something? Or use a different MB?

All suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks,
Ariën Huisken
