Anyone is free to continue development of swup. It doesn't seem like
Comodo has the resources to do that, or at least they don't seem willing
to make it a priority.

The swup code base is quite tidy, and even includes a comment or two,
and python is a language worth learning, so when I say anyone, I mean it.

If you need acess to the code, the tsl developers surely can grant that
on swup.trustix.org, which has a cvs tree available. It can also be
downloaded via http on that site.

But seriously: If the distribution maintainer aren't willing to continue
development of it's software updater, it should consider replacing it
with a tool more widely used, maintained by others.. :)
