FYI I just noticed today that the version of ssh report by the programs themselves and the rpm packages differ.
Example: [EMAIL PROTECTED] /var/log/swup# ssh -v OpenSSH_4.5p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7e 25 Oct 2004 [EMAIL PROTECTED] /var/log/swup# rpm -qi openssh Name : openssh Relocations: (not relocateable) Version : 4.6p1 Vendor: Comodo Trustix Release : 1tr Build Date: Thu Mar 15 06:30:07 2007 Install date: Wed Mar 21 13:21:44 2007 Build Host: ttrmgtnived.comodo.net Group : Trustix Official Source RPM: openssh-4.6p1-1tr.src.rpm Size : 658250 License: BSD Packager : Comodo Trustix <http://www.trustix.com> URL : http://www.openssh.com/ Summary : OpenSSH free Secure Shell (SSH) implementation Description : Ssh (Secure Shell) a program for logging into a remote machine and for executing commands in a remote machine. It is intended to replace rlogin and rsh, and provide secure encrypted communications between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network. X11 connections and arbitrary TCP/IP ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel. OpenSSH is OpenBSD's rework of the last free version of SSH, bringing it up to date in terms of security and features, as well as removing all patented algorithms to seperate libraries (OpenSSL). This package includes the core files necessary for both the OpenSSH client and server. To make this package useful, you should also install openssh-clients, openssh-server, or both. It's consistent across all of the ssh packages (openssh, openssh-clients, openssh-server, etc.). Was this a mistake?
