FWIW, I did PGP-sign the mail. I didn't encrypt it because I overlooked the statement on his web page that says he prefers encrypted to cleartext mail.
Yeah, you're right, we should send a reminder. It certainly can't hurt! Well, when MLUG hosted him ~2 years ago, the earliest we could schedule him was 3-4 weeks (in between ALS and something else big IIRC). Of course his schedule looks much more open now, but still, there are things scheduled several months ahead... I'd say if he doesn't respond before Thursday to just drop it. Publicization was by far the biggest issue with the MLUG expo, and I think we had flyers distributed ~4 days in advance. Hell, the Maneater gives out some free ink for student orgs IIRC, we'd at least have to do that... and I believe that needs more than two weeks of work to finish. > It might be nice to call him and remind him about our email, but he is > very big on privacy and his phone number is not available... meh. If he's reading it and not respoding there's not much we can do. If he's just deluged with email then I'd suggest PGP-signing your messages just to make yours stick out more (although there are of course lots of other good reasons to use PGP). Of course, there's no way for us to tell between the two... In any case emailing a reminder shouldn't hurt. > Sean Foy > Lecture tour coordinator for this event and VP, Truman ACM > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > On Behalf Of Ian Monroe > Sent: Monday, March 11, 2002 7:27 PM > To: Truman State Linux User Group > Subject: [tslug] esr's coming again. hmm.
