Ben, I'm doing the same thing and if I get it going before you post tips on this list, I'll post mine. I've been putting it off while waiting for a new HD to come in (at which time I plan to reinstall Linux from scratch).
I'm currently using a broadband router/WAP combo connected via cat V to my old broadband router, for now I just consider the wireless portion of the network to be insecure but I'm wanting to setup a VPN to secure wireless nodes. I take it you've seen http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2001/03/06/recipe.html which is something I ran across looking for documentation on this. It doesn't address what I want but maybe it helps you. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Benjamin Story Sent: Saturday, July 13, 2002 7:49 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [tslug] Linux as a 802.11b access point? I've got a 802.11b card in my box along with a standard NIC. I was wondering if anyone had seen information on how to use this combo as a WAP for other computers (in my case my laptop).
