Ben, I'm doing the same thing and if I get it going before you post tips
on this list, I'll post mine. I've been putting it off while waiting for
a new HD to come in (at which time I plan to reinstall Linux from
scratch).

I'm currently using a broadband router/WAP combo connected via cat V to
my old broadband router, for now I just consider the wireless portion of
the network to be insecure but I'm wanting to setup a VPN to secure
wireless nodes.

I take it you've seen
http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2001/03/06/recipe.html which is
something I ran across looking for documentation on this. It doesn't
address what I want but maybe it helps you.
