I recommended that this fellow bring his Laptop on Wednesday. He
is trying to do a Linux install but can't get his PCMCIA stuff
working.

I told him to bring media, and asked him to send me specs ahead.
Maybe someone can get it going.

Subject: Please help -Linux install on laptop
Importance: Normal

Hello,
My name is Robert, I work for ITS Web Services
I just talked to you on the phone.
For a couple of moths I've been trying to install any distribution of
Linux on my laptop.
Specs:

SIEMENS Model: PCD-4ND
P 75, 20 MB RAM, 850 MB HDD.
Phoenix BIOS 1.03, floppy, no cd
3Com Megahertz 10/100 LAN, Model: 3CXFE575CT
(Megahertz Modem, Model: CC3288)

RedHat 5.2 - 8.0 Didn't recognize the card, or the drivers from the
image didn't work
The card is functional on other mashines.
Slackware -the same problem
Open BSD -even worse.
Mandrake - too high system requirements

Thanks so much for your help

Robert Maroszek
