Anyone have any suggestion for what to do when this happens? I'm getting really sick of not being able to do nfs mounts, remotely query my box running mysql or ssh into my laptop. [EMAIL PROTECTED] ]$ hostname -f silverthorn.truman.edu [EMAIL PROTECTED] ]$ host silverthorn silverthorn.truman.edu has address 150.243.176.223 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ]$ host 150.243.176.223 223.176.243.150.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer charlie. (and just for kickers:) [EMAIL PROTECTED] ]$ host charlie.truman.edu Host charlie.truman.edu not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) [EMAIL PROTECTED] ]$ /sbin/ifconfig <snip>inet addr:150.243.185.197<snip>
I've tried stoping samba, waiting a good 20 minutes and then restarting it to no avail. I've tried releasing and requiring a dhcp lease (same IP address before and after though), again to no avail. This is not the first time this happened (though it is the first time this year). I'm just sick of the DNS not working right. -- Peter Snoblin - http://entropicaccess.net/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- To get off this list, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with Subject: unsubscribe -----------------------------------------------------------------
