As the McCain campaign has ramped up their unprecedented campaign of smears
against Barack Obama, millions of undecided voters are going online and looking
for answers.
We have to make sure they see the truth.
Last week, John Kerry emailed you and mentioned our Google search advertising
program, where we buy ads around key search words so we get the truth at the
top of the page when someone researches a smear.
We're having enormous success with the program, but we need your help
desperately. We need to get the truth in front of every single person who is
trying to find answers.

Right now, so many people are looking for the truth about the McCain smears
that our ads are only reaching less than half of them. We need to put more
resources behind the truth so every single person looking for answers sees our
link to the real story about Barack Obama, and clicks on that instead of a link
to a smear from a rightwing site.
Every contribution helps. This isn't like donating to run a television ad,
where your donation goes into a pool of money. Your donation directly impacts
how many people see the truth. If you give just $50, that will pay for 140
people who click through to our pages and see the truth. If you can give $200,
that number jumps to 560, which was the (official) difference in Florida in the
2000 election. Your donation by itself can make the difference in a close state
like North Carolina, or Indiana, making sure some critical voters see the truth.

A large majority of undecided voters get information through search engine
searches over the last weeks of the campaign, so this can be the difference in
their votes. It's the most cost-effective way you can make a difference.
And we're also making sure people see the truth about Mark Udall, and Jeanne
Shaheen, and Al Franken, and any of a number of Democratic candidates who are
under attack. This is a big effort to help in a lot of critical races.
So please do what you can to help, and we can make sure people aren't swayed by
lies and smears.
