I was using the ant jdepend task previously and mentioned in irc that we could use that for some metrics pretty easily. So the build-metrics.xml build file is created and it just uses JDepend currently. Other metric tools could be used in the future, this was just one quick one I knew of and was easy to implement. Didn't mean to step on toes, sorry. I saw your xdoc commit but haven't read through it yet.
