Yes.
Our plan so far has been that before a 1.0 release, we will make sure all properties are prefixed with 'maven.'
Also, there is a plan underway for 'plugins' for Maven, in which the namespace is 'maven.<plugin>', e.g.
maven.j2ee.war.name=mywar

Was there any thought about giving all properties used by Ant via Maven
their own namespace?
For example, instead of javadoc.destdir it could be M.javadoc.destdir or
something?
Just curious so far...but looks like it might be an issue down the road.
