Maven itself follows the Turbine-family style of coding conventions. As for the default that should be used by Maven Checkstyle and Jrefactory settings, the Checkstyle settings were defaulted to the Turbine-style and thats noted in the documentation, so I guess I don't see a problem with defaulting to Turbine-style for Jrefactory settings either. However with that said, perhaps it would be better to stick with Sun's default recommendations for Maven's defaults as suggested by Nathan? We can always just create a Turbine-style project.properties that overrides the appropriate settings. I don't feel strongly either way.
