Thanks for offering a suggestion ... did not work. a bootstrap directory is created
both
in the location of the maven download and locally in the directory from which the
script is run. Also the velocity.log is created in the local directory. Again, I think
that its
velocity that is messing up.
Ok try this.
mkdir tmp
cd tmp
ant -Dbasedir=<where maven is> -f <where maven is>/build-bootstrap.xml
What happens, you get two bootstrap directories created; one locally in directory tmp
and one in <where maven is>. So its a basic problem with ant (velocity task).
