The snapshot is created with with a timestamp. For every snapshot
uploaded with a timestamp a symlink is created that points to the most
recent snapshot. You may use the full timestamp with your <version/>
declarations or you may use the special 'SNAPSHOT' tag. You are free to
use either or. The SNAPSHOT is in effect the same as your -dev JARs
except that Maven will _always_ consider a snapshot to require updating
and always pokes the server to see if there is something newer.

I've been using the SNAPSHOT of things where I've been changing/patching
things 10-20 times a day. I don't have to edit the project.xml file
every time I change. When things stabilize you can pick an actual
timestamped version.

Just to be clear, the snapshot is _always_ deployed with a timestamp,
the SNAPSHOT marker is a convenience and will work for builds like
scarab where you use things like -dev and don't want to use timestamps.

In short, man creates for himself a new religion of a rational
and technical order to justify his work and to be justified in it.
