I have trusted maven to improve quickly in performance ... and am now stuck with it on a production project and we have already migrated a few subprojects to Maven. The slow response time is becoming a problem for us (especially compared to what we had with Ant). Yes, we can use the console for interactive builds (although I haven't tried it yet) but not when using our continuous integration process... I guess I'll have to spend some time on profiling it now ... :-( I wish I had more time ... !
