Ok, thanks for your input, Daniel! So, if I understand correctly, one needs to create all the bean classes manually in OJB. That's definitely a good argument to use Torque instead.

You can implement, using proxy pattern, lazy loading (what is a nice catch!). And you can use all relational aspects from your database with a simple class hierarchy.
