Hi Hirsto,
Take a look at VelocityOnlyLayout. It does not add the <html> tags. This
is very useful if you need some finer control.
We don't use Cocoon for anything. We just created a VelocityXslLayout that
transforms the content of the templates. It is basically a cut/paste job
from VelocityOnlyLayout with the XSL transformation added to it.
