We have used both in a production environment, and they both work well. SQL
Server is actually a very good database, though we prefer *nix stuff. I
would recommened PostgreSQL over it though since it's free and open source.
I think (pretty sure) the only good JDBC drivers for SQL Server are
commercial, except JDBC-ODBC and the freetds stuff, which is not recommended
for a production environment. Any one used a non-commercial JDBC driver in
the wild with SQL Server?

Subject: Postgres and SQL Server.
Hi,
I'm using Turbine with MySQL for more than one year. It's great.
A client needs an application with transactions. So I need to change the DB
server.
Before I choose another DB, I would like to know if anybody has already used
Postgres and SQL Server (my client has already a SQL Server DB).
Do you have advises about this two database server ?
Thanks,
Herv
