I use Turbine with oracle (the same version) and have no problem.
Everything you've done is ok except for touching things under TDKROOT/share.
You have to make the changes in APPNAME/WEB-INF/conf/TurbineResources.properties

BTW, I also renamed the jdbc driver from .zip to .jar.
